Call for Entries: Mental Health Reporting Contest 2026

The Pan-African Mental Health Institute (PAMHI), in partnership with the Camer Today News Project (CTNP), The Pan-African Mental Health Institute (PAMHI), in partnership with the Camer Today News Project (CTNP), is excited to announce the Mental Health Reporting Contest 2026 for journalism students and early-career journalists in Cameroon, with the support of Prof. Victor Mbarika, founder of ICT University, who has generously doubled the initial prize money.

Participants are encouraged to produce an original 2–4 minute video report on mental health in Cameroon, highlighting issues such as stigma, youth mental health, access to care, trauma, or community responses.

Selected entries will be published on the Camer Today News Project and PAMHI Facebook pages, where they will be open to public engagement and review by a panel of experienced media professionals.

Scoring criteria by the judges includes relevance to the theme, accuracy and quality of reporting
Storytelling and originality, production quality, ethical sensitivity and respect for subjects, and public education value.

Prizes

  • 1st Prize: 100,000 CFA
  • 2nd Prize: 50,000 CFA
  • 3rd Prize: 30,000 CFA
