2025 Interpools: Barnabe hits hat-trick as nine-man Mintack rout Olympic Meiganga

Ayissi Barnabé bagged his second hat-trick as nine-man Mintack FC de la Haute Sanaga thrashed Olympic Meiganga on matchday four of the 2025 National Interpools. The forward showed flashes of brilliance, opening the scoring for the Centre Region champions at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre in Odza on the stroke of halftime.

He scored a brace in the second half to cap off his impressive performance. Barnabé added gloss to the scoreline on 67 minutes, after his teammates Junior Dama and Christian Ndumbe had taken the game away with two goals within three minutes.

The lethal striker later sealed the win eight minutes before stoppage time to complete the rout. Mintack FC were forced to finish the game with nine players after two of their players were sent off.

Barnabé currently leads the goalscorer charts of the 2025 National Interpools with six goals. He became the first player in the tournament to score a hat-trick, following a similar crushing 6-0 victory against Diamant FC of Yagoua on matchday three.

The win keeps Mintack FC on course for an MTN Elite Two spot next season. In the other game in Pool A, Gilbert Pinto scored in the final minutes of stoppage time to rescue a point for Kumba City FC in a 1-1 draw against Sable Batié.

Stéphane Abada thought he had handed the West Region flag bearers a vital win, but they failed to hold on to their lead.

It was the first time Kumba City FC had dropped points in the competition. They had made a winning start to their 2025 National Interpools campaign with an emphatic 3-1 win over Diamant FC of Yagoua and narrowly edged Olympic Meiganga 1-0 in their second outing. The champions of the 10 regions of the country are taking part in the 2025 National Interpools.

The clubs are drawn into two pools of five clubs each. The first two in each pool will advance to the semi-finals, where the finalists will secure promotion to the MTN Elite Two championship next season.
