The MTN Elite One has once again delivered incredible drama and entertainment as matchday four wrapped up on Monday February 9, 2026.

Seven matches were played nationwide, with goals in each game and 15 scored in total, shaking up the league table.

If you missed the drama, here are the major highlights from matchday four.

PWD secures third-straight win

PWD of Bamenda extended their impressive winning run in the MTN Elite One.

The Abakwa Boys held on to defeat Fauve Azur 2-1 during matchday four at the Annex of the Ahmadou Ahidjou Stadium in Yaounde.

PWD of Bamenda got off to a perfect start when Ndonwie Fielding broke the deadlock 11 minutes into the game.

Patrick Clovert doubled the lead on 73 minutes before Tresor Bembong halved the deficit for the Faya Boys.

PWD of Bamenda, who won their maiden league title in 2020, finished the game with 10-men after Junior Nguimbat was sent off in stoppage.

There was lots of drama at the end but PWD of Bamenda held on for the final minutes to record a valuable win.

It was the club’s first away win of the season. They suffered a 3-0 loss to Victoria United FC in their season opener in Limbe.

The North West Region club has now won three-matches in a row. The win helped coach Tama Wango and his boys to move up to second on the 14-club league table.

They are level on points with current leaders Dynamo of Douala and third placed Gazelle FA of Garoua.

AS Fortuna stuns holders Colombe

Joseph Pernaud Mbock scored the winner as AS Fortuna stunned defending MTN Elite One champions Colombe Sportive 1-0 in Yaounde.

Mbock’s 60th minute goal in the electrifying clash ended AS Fortuna’s search for a first win this season after three matches.

AS Fortuna began their season with a 4-2 loss to Dynamo of Douala and shared the spoils in a goalless stalemate against Aigle Royal de la Menoua before another 2-0 defeat to Panthere Sportive.

The team moved to the 10th position in the league with four points.

For Colombe Sportive, it was their second defeat this season after their 2-1 loss to Gazelle FA of Garoua on matchday two.

The Elite One title holder is ahead of AS Fortuna on the table, level on points.

Stade Renard fight back to draw with Coton Sport

Franck Koum Dippitta scored a stoppage time goal as Stade Renard of Melong came from behind to draw 2-2 with Coton Sport of Garoua.

Record Elite One winners Coton Sport were on course for a second straight win this season after a commendable fightback but let their lead slip away.

Ahmadou Ahidjou cancelled Kouam Polla’s fourth minute opener before Felix Oukine struck at the hour mark for the visitor to take control of the game.

Coton Sport were seconds away from celebrating a hard-earned victory but battling Stade Renard had the final say when Kouam Polla scored a dramatic 90+2 equalizer.

The results means that Coton Sport missed the chance to move into the top four and remained sixth with six points while Stade Renard is 12th with three points.

Gazelle back to winning ways

Gazelle FA of Garoua narrowly edged Panthere du Nde 1-0 to return to winning ways.

It was a perfect response for the prodigiously talented team after they lost 1-0 to PWD of Bamenda on matchday three.

Fouda Omgba scored the solitary goal with a brilliant second half free-kick. It was the third win for Gazelle FA this season.

They are third on the table level on nine points PWD of Bamenda and Dynamo of Douala.

Panthere had the chance to go top on the table with a win but their plans backfired. It was their first defeat this season. They were on a run of two wins and a draw.

Dynamo wins to reclaim top spot

Dynamo of Douala secured a 2-0 win over Aigle Royal de la Menoua to return to the top of the MTN Elite One.

The title aspirants put up a commanding second half display to return to winning ways after a slim 1-0 defeat to Colombe on matchday three.

They sealed their win with two second half goals in five minutes.

Skipper Jules Armand Kooh opened the scoring on 52 minutes while Alexandre Nde sealed the win with a stunning free-kick four minutes later for Les Bon Mba Djob.

It was a huge win for Dynamo who continued their rich vein of form.

Aigle on their part have continued to struggle since their 2-0 win during the opening match of the season against Unisport of Bafang.

They have drawn two successive games without scoring before they succumbed to their first defeat of the season.

Despite this run of results, Aigle Royal remains seventh on the table with five points.

Canon scores and wins at last

Ten-time Elite One champions Canon Sportif of Yaounde recorded their first win of the season following a slim 1-0 win over Aigle Royal du Moungo.

Dieudonne Essono scored the lone goal of the game minutes before stoppage time.

The win ended the clubs three match winless run at the start of the season.

The KpaKum began their campaign with a goalless draw at home against Stade Renard and lost to Fauve Azur 1-0. They also drew goalless with Aigle Royal of the Menoua.

The team had also failed to score a single goal in three games before their narrow win over Aigle Royal du Moungo.

The win took Canon Sportif to the eight spot after five points collected. Aigle tails the table with just two points after four games.

Victoria United falls again

Victoria United FC’s poor run continued with a third consecutive league defeat.

The 2024 Elite One champions, who have the youngest squad this season, lost to Unisport 2-1 to add to their woes.

The last three matches have been largely pure gloom for Victoria United.

They made a perfect start to the season with a controversial 3-0 win in Limbe against PWD of Bamenda but have since been a shadow of themselves.

The team dropped to the 11th position while Unsiport moved up to the fifth position on the table.
