The family and team of late singer, Aponglem Lesly aka Fhish released the official cover art and title of his EP.
Named SILK, the EP, his team said, in a release, “is about how the colonial masters have been using us the blacks till date… As Africans, we got all the natural resources, cultural diversity, we can stand as mother Africa and be accepted by the rest of the world”.
The central theme of the body of work is for Africans to regain their self worth and assert their position on the global stage.
“… if we can use our natural resources and cultural diversities Mother Africa will become one and indivisible. Let us all create awareness of how rich and blessed we are as Africans,” part of the release read.
Fhish passed on in a December 23, 2021 accident on the Tiko-Douala highway. After his death, Fhish’s team and family said they would perfect and release his works, thus the SILK EP.
He died in the car crash alongside his manger and friend, Feka Parchibel.
Fhish left behind family, thousands of fans and a little daughter.
